While Toyota\u2019s hybrid tech is an option, it may be too expensive for budget-friendly models. Instead, Maruti is developing its own cost-effective hybrid solution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, hybrid adoption in India faces challenges due to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>High tax rates<\/strong> \u2013 Hybrid cars attract <strong>28% GST<\/strong> plus additional cess, raising the total tax to <strong>43%<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Limited government incentives<\/strong> \u2013 EVs get <strong>5% GST, road tax waivers, and FAME-II subsidies<\/strong>, while hybrids do not<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>State-wise variations<\/strong> \u2013 Some states, like Uttar Pradesh, offer tax benefits for hybrids, but a nationwide incentive is needed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Final Thoughts<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The hybrid WagonR could be a game-changer in Japan, but its future in India depends on government policies.
