Applicants can <a href=\"https:\/\/timesofindia.indiatimes.com\/india\/for-those-born-after-october-1-2023-birth-certificates-must-to-get-passport\/articleshow\/118639328.cms\">continue<\/a> submitting any one of the alternative documents as proof of birth. These include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Transfer certificate or school leaving\/matriculation certificate from a recognised institution<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>PAN card<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Driving licence<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Electoral photo identity card (EPIC)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Policy bond issued by LIC or public insurance companies<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Service record or pension order (for government employees)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This ensures that people born prior to the cutoff date are not required to produce a birth certificate and can use these accepted documents for passport verification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Why the Change?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The primary goal of this amendment is to streamline and simplify documentation.
