After Huawei unveiled the Mate XT, the first triple-fold smartphone in history, in September 2024, the need to release a triple-fold phone became even more pressing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prior to its recent international release, the Huawei Mate XT was only available in China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In April 2025, Samsung is anticipated to start sourcing parts for the Galaxy G Fold, with mass production<\/a> to follow shortly thereafter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A cautious rollout strategy and high pricing are suggested by the first batch’s limited quantity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite being announced in 2025, the phone may not be on sale until January 2026, according to reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With a 9.96-inch unfolded screen and a 6.54-inch height, the Samsung tri-fold will be thicker than the Huawei Mate XT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Samsung’s phone will have a G-shaped fold, in which the outer screens fold inward, as opposed to Huawei’s S\/Z-shaped fold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is anticipated that this G-shaped folding design will increase durability and extend the device’s lifespan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The absence of the under-display camera technology could result in a hole-punch cutout on the main screen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The hole-punch cutout may enhance the quality of the front camera but may also have a minor effect on the sleek design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Samsung’s customary foldable release schedule, the official launch event is anticipated to take place in July 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
