The Xeon 6700\/6500P chips are versatile, with core counts ranging from 8 to 86, targeting diverse enterprise needs. This release is part of Intel\u2019s broader strategy to offer chips for a range of applications, including telecommunications and edge environments. Additionally, the high-end 288-core Xeon 6900E processor<\/a> has entered production, with large cloud customers already deploying it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Intel\u2019s new Xeon processors come at a time when AMD is increasing its market share, especially in cloud services and AI workloads. However, Intel remains dominant in the traditional enterprise market. AMD’s share reached 35.5% in Q4 2024, a 3.7% increase year-over-year. Intel is positioning itself well in the enterprise market, with analysts noting that Xeon 6 chips offer strong competition against AMD, especially in traditional sectors.
