{"id":1291248,"date":"2025-02-25T13:15:09","date_gmt":"2025-02-25T07:45:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/?p=1291248"},"modified":"2025-02-25T13:15:46","modified_gmt":"2025-02-25T07:45:46","slug":"tcs-loses-rs-53000-crore-in-5-days-bad-news-for-salary-appraisal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/tcs-loses-rs-53000-crore-in-5-days-bad-news-for-salary-appraisal\/","title":{"rendered":"TCS Loses Rs 53,000 Crore In 5 Days: Bad News For Salary Appraisal?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Recently, the Indian IT giant, Tata Consultancy Services(TCS) has been in the news for its new policy and salary hikes announcement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A Bad News For TCS, Just Before The Annual Salary Increments<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When it comes to TCs it&#8217;s a Tata Group IT firm,\u00a0 which is also India&#8217;s largest IT firm which has announced to introduce its annual salary increments in March 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"465\" src=\"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Untitled-design-1-5-1-1.png\" alt=\"TCS Loses Rs 53,000 Crore In 5 Days: Bad News For Salary Appraisal?\" class=\"wp-image-1291257\" srcset=\"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Untitled-design-1-5-1-1.png 1000w, https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Untitled-design-1-5-1-1-300x140.png 300w, https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Untitled-design-1-5-1-1-768x357.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Please note here that the payments will be starting from April.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prior to this, the company was in the news as the company has received bad news this week.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As it is known that the Indian IT major has lost Rs 53,185.89 crore in market cap this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It appears that the company\u2019s shares dropped by 2.82 percent in 5 days (Feb 17-21).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After this loss, presently <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dnaindia.com\/business\/report-ahead-of-annual-salary-hikes-ratan-tata-tcs-loses-rs-53185-crore-in-mcap-3134763\">TCS\u2019s market cap<\/a> stands at Rs 13,69,717.48 crore.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following the event, the company share price of the company closed at Rs 3,789.90 on 21 febuary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>TCS seems to be taking the biggest hit with&nbsp; the massive drop in market valuation of TCS comes amid a bearish trend in equities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Reliance Industries &#8211; Turns Out To Be The Most Valued Firm<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Similar to TCS, it IT rival Infosys also faced an erosion of Rs 17,086.61 crore to Rs 7,53,700.15 crore from its market valuation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If we consider the combined market valuation of eight of the top 10 most valued firms in the country including TCS, has eroded Rs 1,65,784.9 crore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If we consider last week, the BSE benchmark declined 628.15 points, or 0.82 per cent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Similarly, Nifty also went lower 133.35 points, or 0.58 percent following the declining trends<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Contrasting these trends, the mcap of Mukesh Ambani&#8217;s Reliance Industries had a bull run from&nbsp; Rs 14,547.3 crore to Rs 16,61,369.42 crore.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With this display, the company remained the most valued firm followed by the other firms such as TCS, HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel and others.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In case of TCS, the company has reportedly tied salary hikes and variable pay to compliance with its return-to-office (RTO) policy which the company has introduced in early 2024.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Recently, the Indian IT giant, Tata Consultancy Services(TCS) has been in the news for its new policy and salary hikes announcement.
