This marks a continued trend from the previous quarter when similar cuts were made. This is a stark contrast to the <strong>Q1FY25<\/strong>, where payouts were nearly <strong>70 percent<\/strong>. One employee revealed that their <strong>QVA<\/strong> was halved in the previous quarter and further reduced to just a <strong>quarter<\/strong> of what was expected in the current quarter.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Employee Feedback<\/strong>: According to sources close to the company, approximately <strong>70 percent<\/strong> of junior staff received nearly <strong>100 percent<\/strong> of their QVA. However, senior employees&#8217; payouts were linked to the <strong>business unit-wise performances<\/strong>, with those in the lower ranks being better compensated.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>TCS Response<\/strong>: A <strong>TCS spokesperson<\/strong> declined to comment on these speculations when approached by Moneycontrol.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Work from Office Attendance Policy Linked to Variable Pay<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Attendance Requirements<\/strong>: Last year, TCS introduced a policy linking <strong>work from office attendance<\/strong> to <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.moneycontrol.com\/technology\/tcs-slashes-variable-pay-for-senior-employees-for-second-quarter-in-a-row-article-12932184.html\">variable pay<\/a><\/strong>. Employees with <strong>85 percent<\/strong> office attendance were eligible for the full <strong>quarterly variable pay<\/strong>. Those with <strong>75-85 percent<\/strong> attendance would receive 75 percent, and employees attending <strong>60-75 percent<\/strong> of the time were eligible for only 50 percent of their variable pay.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Consequences of Non-Compliance<\/strong>: Employees with <strong>less than 60 percent<\/strong> office attendance were not eligible for any quarterly bonus, and consistent non-compliance could lead to <strong>disciplinary action<\/strong> as per an internal memo.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Delayed Wage Hikes and Promotions<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Wage Hikes<\/strong>: TCS has been quicker in rolling out salary increments compared to its peers. The company began its wage hike cycle in <strong>April 2024<\/strong>, whereas <strong>Infosys<\/strong>, <strong>HCLTech<\/strong>, and <strong>LTIMindtree<\/strong> delayed theirs until <strong>Q3<\/strong> and beyond.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Promotions<\/strong>: In Q3, <strong>TCS promoted over 25,000 employees<\/strong>, bringing the total number of promotions in the fiscal year to more than <strong>110,000<\/strong> employees, or nearly <strong>20 percent<\/strong> of its workforce.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Headcount Changes<\/strong>: Despite promotions, TCS\u2019s <strong>headcount decreased by 5,370<\/strong> employees in Q3, reversing the growth trend seen in the previous two quarters.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Looking Ahead<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>TCS remains optimistic about the future with a <strong>strong deal pipeline<\/strong> worth over <strong>$10.2 billion<\/strong> for the upcoming quarters, despite challenges in a traditionally weaker quarter.
