After <strong>11:00 PM<\/strong>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.msn.com\/en-in\/news\/India\/275-wr-local-train-services-cancelled-from-jan-24-26\/ar-AA1xyoI2\">slow trains<\/a> from Virar, Bhayandar, and Borivali will use the fast line between Mumbai Central and Santacruz, skipping stops at <strong>Mahalaxmi, Lower Parel, Prabhadevi, Matunga Road, Mahim, and Khar Road<\/strong> stations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Four long-distance trains will be canceled.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ten trains will be short-terminated.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ten trains will be rescheduled.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Details of Bridge No. 20<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Constructed in 1888 over the Mithi River, Bridge No. 20 is a critical structure supported by eight cast iron pillars. Each pillar:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Weighs:<\/strong> 8-10 tonnes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Dimensions:<\/strong> Two feet in diameter with a 50mm thickness.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Depth:<\/strong> Extends 15-20 meters to the riverbed&#8217;s bedrock.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The bridge spans <strong>50-60 meters<\/strong> across four rail lines and features seven cement girders. For decades, this infrastructure has supported the weight of steel girders and rail tracks, but its aging components require replacement for safety reasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Current Maintenance Efforts<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The railways are using <strong>cofferdams<\/strong> on both sides of the Mithi River to prevent water ingress during the project. A high-power pump is actively removing accumulated water to allow the safe dismantling of the bridge&#8217;s iron piers. Once demolished, the bridge will be rebuilt to ensure enhanced safety and reliability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Impact on Commuters<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Commuters are advised to plan their travel in advance and expect delays or disruptions.
