The Chief Financial Officer Samir Seksaria said that the Indian IT giant, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is looking to create a capacity of over 25,000 seats in Bengaluru over the long term on a land parcel acquired recently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How Did This Happen?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Further, Seksaria stated that the company is planning to put the capacity to expand in Whitefield, Bengaluru, a prime area of the IT capital, on the occasion of the Tata Group company announcing Rs 1,625-crore land buy deal last week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So far, the IT service provider has about 70,000 employees in various offices across Bengaluru.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It appears that the IT firm is adopting a mix of lease and build approach when it comes to setting up its units, and the effort in Bengaluru is part of the latter, Seksaria added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The IT company seems to be building campuses or facilities across various pockets of the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

TCS Making Clear Aims To Expand <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The last of such centres to be inaugurated was in Coimbatore, Seksaria said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Further adding, “The same program (BSNL) as it tapers down at a portfolio level, at an overall level, there would be a benefit which would come in (on margins),” while replying to a question on the impact of the BSNL deal’s tapering down on margins. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although, the CFO declined to share a number on the positive impact on the operating profit front.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While that being said, the company reported an operating profit margin of 24.5% for the December quarter, further making it clear that it aims to expand on it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Notably, TCS<\/a> would be tapering down in the BSNL contract till the September quarter of FY26, Seksaria said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the last few quarters, the over Rs 15,000-crore deal to help BSNL roll out a countrywide 4G network has had a significant contribution to the Tata group company’s revenue growth notably.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Further talking on this subject, Seksaria noted that  the company will make up for the tapering BSNL revenue from other sources across all markets it serves.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
