{"id":1289369,"date":"2025-01-08T11:28:55","date_gmt":"2025-01-08T05:58:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/?p=1289369"},"modified":"2025-01-08T11:29:31","modified_gmt":"2025-01-08T05:59:31","slug":"despite-rs-6500-crore-quaterly-profits-infosys-delays-salary-hike-but-why","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/despite-rs-6500-crore-quaterly-profits-infosys-delays-salary-hike-but-why\/","title":{"rendered":"Despite Rs 6500 Crore Quaterly Profits, Infosys Delays Salary Hike (But Why?)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>A recent media <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timesnownews.com\/business-economy\/companies\/big-update-on-infosys-salary-hikes-annual-raise-deferred-to-4th-quarter-what-it-means-for-employees-article-116980265\">report<\/a> revealed that Infosys has deferred the salary hike to the fourth quarter of the current financial year (Q4FY25).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How Did This Happen?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"465\" src=\"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/ify-5-1.png\" alt=\"Despite Rs 6500 Crore Quaterly Profits, Infosys Delays Salary Hike (But Why?)\" class=\"wp-image-1289386\" srcset=\"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/ify-5-1.png 1000w, https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/ify-5-1-300x140.png 300w, https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/ify-5-1-768x357.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>It appears that the country&#8217;s second-largest IT company last rolled out salary hikes in November 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The hikes are usually rolled out earlier in the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reportedly, several other big IT companies like HCLTech, LTIMindtree, and L&amp;T Tech Services&nbsp; skipped salary increments in the second quarter to manage costs and sustain profitability besides Infosys.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The company announced its plans for phased wage hikes in Q4 on October 17.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;\u201cSome part of that will be effective in January and the balance will be effective in April,\u201d informed by the Chief Financial Officer Jayesh Sanghrajka during a press conference following the Q2 results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The company reported a net profit of Rs 6,506 crore during the second quarter, marking a 2.2% quarter-on-quarter increase but falling short of market expectations.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Improvement In Margins<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Infosys\u2019s margin also improved by 10 basis points said to be driven by reduced onsite costs, higher utilisation rates, and enhanced operational efficiencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Further, the company has revised its FY25 revenue guidance upward to 3.75-4.5%, an increase from the earlier projection of 3-4%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Infosys has earlier announced an average performance bonus of 90% to eligible employees for the July-September quarter of FY25 (Q2FY25).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The company has disbursed the bonus with November-end salaries with the primarily benefits mid-to-junior-level staff in delivery and sales units, which make up the majority of the company&#8217;s 3.15 lakh workforce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Media reported that the Bengaluru-based IT giant offers an average bonus of 90%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although, the actual percentage varies based on individual performance and contributions.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Infosys this quarter&#8217;s bonus is notably higher than the 80% average distributed during the April-June period (Q1FY25).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A recent media report revealed that Infosys has deferred the salary hike to the fourth quarter of the current financial year (Q4FY25).
