Indore\u2019s Initiative to End Begging<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a bold move to address the issue of begging, Indore district authorities have announced strict measures<\/a> to discourage the practice. District Collector Ashish Singh stated that a citywide prohibition on begging is already in effect. To enforce this, an FIR will be registered against anyone caught giving alms to beggars starting January 1, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Awareness and Rehabilitation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leading up to this enforcement, the administration is conducting an awareness campaign through December, urging residents to stop giving alms. Singh appealed to the public, emphasizing, “Do not become partners in the sin by encouraging begging.” Authorities have also been active in rehabilitating individuals involved in begging while dismantling exploitative gangs profiting from the practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
