A Rs 8,000 crore plan for the construction of the \u2018New City\u2019 on 821.964 acres on the outskirts of the capital city was created by the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) recently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BDA Constructing New City<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It appears that the BDA<\/a> has already started the land acquisition process for this project, said Krushna Chandra Mahapatra, the Housing and Urban Development Minister.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are wondering about the location of this New City, it has been planned in Malipada, Daspur and Gothapatana areas on Bhubaneswar city outskirts with a residential facility of around 2 lakh people. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On top of that this is going to be a solar city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Center Providing Financial Aid For The Project<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Further, the BDA vice-chairman Dr N Thirumala Naik said, \u201cAs per estimation, the proposed project will require an investment of Rs 8,169 crore of which Rs 6,069 crore has been pegged for built-up space and another Rs 2,100 crore for infrastructure. The Centre will provide financial aid for the project.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A team from the Centre has already conducted a survey of the project recently, Thirumala Naik added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moving ahead, they are planning to construct a four-lane road which will be constructed from Naka Gate Square to Kateni for enhanced communication to and from the New City.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This will also be helpful in connecting roads to further manage the traffic congestion. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moreover, this newly developed city will be connected with Mo Bus service with plying of only e-buses along with Bhubaneswar Metro Train connectivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
