The famous CEO of OpenAI, Sam Altman made a statement regarding the future of artificial intelligence (AI) at the New York Times\u2019s DealBook Summit, recently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After AI, Super Intelligence To Come<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

While providing a prediction, Sam Altman said that the artificial general intelligence (AGI) could eventually emerge as early as the year 2025 which is the next year itself as per the media report<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Further, Sam Altman emphasised on the fact that AGI will allow AI systems to tackle complex tasks just like humans while using various tools. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He believed that the impact of AGI will be minimal, but with passing days it will eventually lead to significant job displacement and economic disruption, during the initial days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Robust Safety Measures For Open AI<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It appears that the safety measures of Open AI were severely defended by Sam Altman regarding AI technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He further added that ChatGPT is widely regarded as safe and robust, as per the media report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moving ahead, he had compared the huge potential of AI to the transformative impact of transistors in technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sam Altman expressed his extreme sadness over the actions of Elon Musk over the legal challenges he faced which include a lawsuit from Tesla CEO Elon Musk over OpenAI’s shift from its nonprofit roots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Further, he genuinely acknowledged the competitive landscape with Elon Musk’s new venture named xAI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Coming to OpenAI, it  has recently secured nearly $6.6 billion in funding while boosting its valuation to a whopping $157 billion, reportedly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sam Altman noted its ongoing challenges in its partnership with Microsoft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But, he confirmed that their priorities are largely aligned while highlighting the immediate need for new economic models to address copyright concerns related to AI content generation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
