This holds a significance as this is a 25-minute reduction from its current travel time, reportedly<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Faster Train Journeys From Bengaluru To Chennai<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prior to this, the Bengaluru division of SWR conducted a speed trial on the Bengaluru-Jolarpettai section.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They have evaluated the feasibility of increasing the speed limit from 110 kmph to 130 kmph. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In similar manners, the Shatabdi Express will shave at least 20 minutes off its journey owing to the speed enhancements on the route. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moving ahead, these latest changes are part of a broader effort by the South Western Railway (SWR).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They aim to increase train speeds on the high-demand corridor as per the media report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Further, the revised speed will be implemented after getting approved by the commissioner of railway safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This upgrade will also help in aligning the entire Bengaluru-Chennai route as the Chennai-Jolarpettai section already supports speeds of up to 130 kmph.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Basically this upgraded speed limits will benefit two Vande Bharat and two Shatabdi trains which are operating daily on this high-density corridor. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This route holds a great significance as it is playing a big part in connecting Bengaluru’s tech and startup hubs with Chennai’s automobile manufacturing and industrial zones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enhancing The Connectivity <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off three new Vande Bharat Express trains through video conferencing during August this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These new launches are meant to enhance the  connectivity in Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka, according to the railway ministry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These new trains are added to the network of more than 100 Vande Bharat Express trains that are operational, connecting more than 280 districts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As we know that Prime Minister Modi inaugurated three Vande Bharat Express trains earlier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Out of that one was from Chennai Central to Nagercoil, second from Madurai to Bengaluru Cantonment and third from Meerut City-Lucknow \u2014 via video conferencing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
