OnePlus India Technology Pvt Ltd has been directed by the consumer court to pay a compensation of Rs 5000 to a man after he claimed to have faced issues due to missing user manual.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Customer Seeks Compensation After Missing User Manual Delays for Four Months<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Bengaluru resident reportedly claimed that he struggled to operate his device and was unable to find crucial information<\/a> about the warranty and the company\u2019s address.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As per the reports, SM Ramesh purchased a OnePlus Nord CE 3 phone in December 2023 for Rs 24,598. However, upon opening the phone\u2019s box, he found that the user manual was missing. He then contacted the company for a replacement manual but only received it after four months, which caused him mental distress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Citing \u201cdeficiency in service” and the mental agony caused by the delay, he then filed a complaint with the Bengaluru I Additional District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission after 2 months in June this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Consumer Court Orders OnePlus to Pay Rs 5,000 Compensation for Missing User Manual<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The court responded by saying that the missing user manual in the OnePlus box as a case of \u201csheer negligence and indifference”. The outlet further said that no company representative showed up during the court proceedings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The court, which passed an ex-parte judgment, acknowledged that Ramesh endured mental distress due to the absence of the user manual. It also highlighted that the company only provided the manual after several months, constituting a deficiency in service. It was then ordered by the commission, that OnePlus should pay a compensation of Rs 5,000 along with Rs 1,000 to cover litigation costs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
