Chief Minister of Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan has announced how the state is all set to transform the remote work opportunities through its “Work Near Home” initiative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kerala’s ‘Work Near Home’ Initiative to Bridge Urban-Rural Gap with State-of-the-Art Workspaces<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

With an aim to offer state-of-the-art workspaces in smaller towns, this project by the state<\/a> aims to bridge the gap between the urban and rural areas. With the completion expected by March 2025, the first workspace will begin construction in Kottarakkara on Saturday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a social media post, CM Vijayan highlighted the changing job landscape in recent years and the importance of creating work environments that cater to these shifts. This project aims to establish the state as a knowledge economy, adapting to modern employment trends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The “Work Near Home” project, headed by the Kerala Development and Innovation Strategic Council (K-DISC), plans to create a network of accessible workspaces throughout the state. Offering flexible remote working options in towns outside major urban hubs, these centres will focus on supporting professionals in knowledge based and IT sectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kottarakkara Centre to Promote Sustainable Development and Inclusive Growth in Kerala’s ‘Work Near Home’ Initiative<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over 200 professionals shall be accommodated by the Kottarakkara centre and shall also be the 1st<\/sup> eco-friendly, energy-efficient building in Kollam district which further throws light on the government’s commitment to sustainable development and green practices. In addition to this, the initiative aims to revitalize smaller towns by providing high-quality workspaces akin to those found in metropolitan areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through this effort, Kerala seeks to promote inclusive development and ensure that economic growth benefits all regions, not just urban areas. CM Vijayan emphasized that the “Work Near Home” project would foster balanced, inclusive growth, ensuring opportunities are available to people across the state, regardless of their location.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
