Prior to the pandemic, fewer than 30% of companies in India provided work-from-home (WFH) options. However, the strict restrictions during the pandemic prompted widespread adoption. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"465\" src=\"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/Untitled-design-10.jpg\" alt=\"68% Companies Continue Work From Home After 3 Years Of Pandemic\" class=\"wp-image-1287697\" srcset=\"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/Untitled-design-10.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/Untitled-design-10-300x140.jpg 300w, https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/Untitled-design-10-768x357.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>According to a joint report by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), 68% of companies still maintain WFH policies, although only 5% permit fully remote work, with most expecting employees to be in the office 2-3 days per week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Cost Savings and Employee Benefits of Remote Work<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The study surveyed 115 companies from various sectors, with more than <a href=\"http:\/\/68% Companies Continue Work From Home After 3 Years Of Pandemic\">half employing over 1,000 people<\/a>. Respondents identified several advantages of remote work, such as a 25% reduction in office rental costs, lower expenses for meetings and client interactions, and savings on commuting and accommodation. These cost reductions enabled companies to adjust employee compensation structures. Additionally, remote work has alleviated commuting stress and fatigue for employees, resulting in improved work-life balance and greater flexibility, particularly for parents and caregivers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Challenges and Benefits of Remote Work<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite the challenges, remote work has led to a shift towards performance-based monitoring, with greater reliance on trust rather than traditional supervision methods. Employers have observed a decline in communication effectiveness (3.2), teamwork (3.0), and organizational culture (3.0). Additionally, concerns have been raised about the difficulty of separating work from personal life, which increases employee stress, particularly for those without dedicated workspaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From an ecological perspective, remote work has notably decreased companies&#8217; carbon footprints, contributing to their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) objectives.
