Tata Responds to Jio\u2019s Claims<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

In response to Jio\u2019s claims that BSNL\u2019s customers would eventually return to Jio due to the lack of 4G and 5G services<\/a>, TCS has provided clarity. According to a report by The Economic Times<\/em>, Jio had stated that BSNL users who switched over due to rate hikes would have no choice but to return to Jio once they realize BSNL lacks 4G services. However, TCS has refuted these claims, emphasizing that BSNL\u2019s 4G and 5G rollouts are progressing smoothly and there are no delays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This response from TCS helps counter negative perceptions of BSNL\u2019s capabilities. A false narrative suggesting delays in BSNL\u2019s rollout could potentially drive customers back to private telecom providers, including Jio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BSNL\u2019s Indigenous 4G and 5G Infrastructure<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

TCS is collaborating with Indian and international telecom companies to ensure a seamless and timely launch of BSNL\u2019s services. The Indian government has announced that BSNL\u2019s 4G and 5G networks will be fully indigenous. To make this happen, TCS is working closely with Tejas Networks to develop BSNL\u2019s telecom infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Timeline for BSNL\u2019s 4G and 5G Services<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The Indian government has set March 2025 as the deadline for the nationwide rollout of BSNL\u2019s 4G services, with approximately 100,000 towers expected to be installed by then. This rollout will enable BSNL to better compete with private players like Jio and Airtel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BSNL also plans to introduce 5G services within five to six months of the 4G launch. Importantly, BSNL will not need to install separate towers for 5G, as the new service will run on the existing 4G infrastructure.
