report<\/a> states that this significant contribution underlines the state\u2019s commitment to industrial growth and inclusive development.<\/p>\n\n\n\nIt appears that the initiatives such as the Tamil Nadu Industrial Policy 2021 and other sector-specific incentives made the state an attractive destination for industries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When it comes to Tamil Nadu, the state has focused on employment generation and continues to set benchmarks across the country, according to Chief Minister MK Stalin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Further highlighting that every investment brought into the state is directed towards creating quality jobs for its youngsters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Moving ahead the report emphasized that programs such as the Tamil Nadu Guidance Bureau facilitated investment and job creation, and ensured that employment generation was inclusive and sustainable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Struggling With Efficiency & Higher Yield<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\nCompared to the other states in the Country, Tamil Nadu has the highest number of factories, accounting for 15.56 percent of the total, followed by Gujarat (12.25%), as per the report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Other states such as Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and Andhra Pradesh account for 10.44 percent, 7.54 percent, and 6.51 percent respectively of the total factories in India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In terms of workforce, Tamil Nadu contributes 15 percent of the total industrial workforce in India while Maharashtra accounts for 12.84 percent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In case of Gujarat, it holds 12.62 percent of the total industrial workforce in India followed by Uttar Pradesh (8.04%) and Karnataka (6.58%)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When it comes to the industrial output, Tamil Nadu ranks third contributing 9.97 percent of the country\u2019s total. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Interestingly, these numbers are behind Gujarat and Maharashtra as they have more efficient or higher-yielding factories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tamil Nadu\u2019s overall contribution to India\u2019s industrial sector is 10.33 percent, illustrating a paradox, said the report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Despite leading in the number of factories and workforce size while its productivity per factory or worker does not match up to its industrial peers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The cause of this discrepancy is affected by several factors, such as the types of industries dominant in each state, infrastructure, technology adoption, or the efficiency of operations, as per the report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
