It appears that 73% of Amazon employees are considering quitting due to the mandate imposed by the Amazon CEO Andy Jassy’s by asking employees to return to the office five days a week from January 2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How Did This Happen?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This all started when Amazon CEO Andy Jassy announced that the company’s employees would have to work from offices five days a week starting January 2 next year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 Following this development, almost 73 percent of the workers have been considering quitting, as per a survey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It appears that an anonymous job review site Blind found out in its survey that 91 per cent of the employees said that they were “overwhelmingly dissatisfied” with the return-to-office mandate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The survey was conducted by talking to 2,585 Amazon employees. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Basically, this survey<\/a> showcases 91% dissatisfaction further highlighting concerns over flexibility and the impact on remote workers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interestingly, nearly 80 percent of the participants claimed that they know of a colleague considering looking for another job.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the same time, 32 percent feel that they knew someone who had already quit owing to the memo. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Employees Expecting Better Policies<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Further they clarified that they were not expecting this new mandate by the Amazon CEO, Andy Jassy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMy morale for this job is gone, gonna totally check out till PIP,\u201d said an employee in the Blind report quoted a verified Amazon professional.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He further referred to the company\u2019s rigorous employee performance culture, which may include performance improvement plans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cRTO blanket policy is crazy, particularly for those of us who were hired remotely and FAR from an office. I have kids and family here so unwilling to relocate. Even if I didn’t, there’s too great a risk I\u2019d be laid off in 6 months anyway so why risk a move?\u201d said another employee further reflecting on how flexibility in the workplace should have been Amazon’s priority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
