As per the reports, Samsung is planning to make its suite of AI features, called \u201cGalaxy AI,\u201d to be pay-to-use by the end of next year. Though the south Korean giant has not announced it already, it has been dropping hints suggesting that at least some Galaxy AI features on its devices will be placed behind a paywall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Free Access Until 2025 for Galaxy AI, Potential Paywall Ahead<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

During the press release in which the company announced the launch of Galaxy S24 FE smartphone, Samsung included a footnote stating, \u201cGalaxy AI features will be provided for free until the end of 2025 on supported Samsung Galaxy devices.\u201d While Samsung has not specified any particular feature, it is likely that at least some, if not all, Galaxy AI features will be put behind a paywall by the end of next year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to this, the company also mentioned that \u201cDifferent terms may apply for AI features provided by third parties.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are several AI features that are offered by Samsung on its eligible Galaxy devices<\/a>. Notably, some of which are also in collaboration with other companies, such as Google’s Circle to Search feature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Subscription Models and Access to Partner Features<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In the scenario where the company places the entire suite of Galaxy AI features behind a paywall, it is likely that users may still access some AI features on the device, specifically those from partner companies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

TM Roh, Samsung\u2019s head of mobile division in an interview earlier this year stated that the company has not yet decided the availability plan for Galaxy AI beyond next year. He further indicated that Samsung might be developing more advanced and powerful AI features, for which the company may require a subscription.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
