As we know that the AI industry is already in boom but it appears that the demand for Indian Artificial Intelligence<\/a> (AI) talent is likely to get a boost to 12,50,000 in 2027 from 600,000-650,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Increasing Demand For AI Professionals<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

While that happens it can not be denied that there is a need to improve the quality of these professionals to meet the demand, as noted in a report released on Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Further adding that there is a “pressing need to cultivate a highly skilled AI workforce to propel the country’s digital economy.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Deloitte India and Nasscom have released the “Advancing India’s AI Skills: Interventions and Programmes Needed” report which indicates that two out of three Indians plan to learn at least one digital skill and interestingly, AI and Machine Learning were the top such skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This report indicates that “Despite growing AI adoption across industries, the shortage of qualified professionals could slow innovation and growth.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to this report, the AI market is expected to grow at 25-35 percent by 2027, further mentioning that <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“potentially signaling a demand-supply gap in the talent pool and a need for upskilling existing talent.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Need To Prepare A Steady Pipeline Of AI Professionals<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The President, Tech & Transformation, Deloitte South Asia, Sathish Gopalaiah said “By reskilling the existing workforce and fostering new talent through robust government-academia-industry collaboration, we can ensure a steady pipeline of professionals ready to lead AI-driven innovation.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This report also talked about the suggestion for  collaboration between industry and academia, and they must develop a skill pipeline. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of this initiative, they must integrate foundational AI coursework into academic programmes and establish training programmes relevant to the industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Besides this, the It industry stakeholders must develop and implement comprehensive skilling pathways that address both foundational and advanced AI skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They should include a mix of theoretical knowledge and practical applications through courses, workshops, hackathons, and internships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While talking about this subject, the Senior VP & Chief Strategy Officer, Nasscom, Sangeeta Gupta stated, “By fostering collaboration between industry, academia, and government, India\u2019s tech sector can not only meet the rising demand for AI expertise but also lead the global AI revolution.” <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
