Starting August 1, 2024, the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has introduced new rules for FASTag users to streamline toll payment processes and reduce congestion at toll booths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Replacement of 5-Year-Old FASTags:<\/strong> All FASTags that are over five years old must be replaced by the issuing authority on a best-effort basis. This ensures that the tags remain functional and up-to-date with current technology standards.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Re-KYC for 3-Year-Old FASTags:<\/strong> Users with FASTags issued three years ago are required to update their KYC details. This re-KYC process will need to be completed every three years to maintain the validity of the FASTag.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Linking Vehicle Details:<\/strong> It is now mandatory to link the vehicle\u2019s registration number and chassis number to the FASTag. This helps in ensuring the proper identification of vehicles and preventing misuse.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. New Vehicle Registration Update:<\/strong> When purchasing a new vehicle, owners must update the registration number with the FASTag within 90 days. This ensures that the FASTag is correctly linked to the new vehicle.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Database Verification:<\/strong> FASTag providers are now required to verify their databases regularly to ensure that all linked details are accurate and up-to-date.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. Photo Upload Requirement:<\/strong> Clear, high-quality photos of the car\u2019s front and side must be uploaded by the FASTag providers. This will aid in the identification of vehicles at toll plazas.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
