The initiative aims to address ongoing concerns such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newindianexpress.com\/cities\/delhi\/2024\/Aug\/09\/new-delhi-traffic-challans-to-be-to-be-issued-via-whatsapp-soon#:~:text=NEW%20DELHI%3A%20City%20residents%20will,department%20to%20expedite%20the%20process.\">illegal<\/a> roadside parking, especially on flyovers, and to enhance overall traffic management. The new system will eliminate the need for human intervention, as the AI-based cameras will automatically detect violations, fetch the necessary information, and trigger the issuance of challans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This approach is expected to not only improve the efficiency of traffic law enforcement but also provide violators with timely updates, allowing them to pay their fines conveniently from anywhere at any time. The use of WhatsApp for this purpose marks a significant step towards digitalizing city services and ensuring faster communication with residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Enhanced Coordination and Traffic Management<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>During the meeting, Saxena emphasized the importance of integrating the needs of the traffic police within this project to ensure better coordination with the transport department. This will help in avoiding any duplication of efforts and enhance the overall effectiveness of traffic management in the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The L-G also stressed the need for a more visible and sensible presence of traffic personnel on roads. He urged the traffic police to work closely with the transport department to form joint teams that would focus on issues like overloading of commercial vehicles and overcrowding of passenger buses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Implementation of Parking Policy and Compliance<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to the AI-based challan system, the L-G directed the transport department, Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), and traffic police to collaborate on an action plan for the implementation of the Parking Policy. This initiative is intended to address illegal parking practices across the city.
