In a latest development<\/a>, online platform, Park+ has released a report recently which is focusing on the experiences of electric vehicle owners in India.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this survey, they have included responses from 500 EV car India.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The survey participants included responses from 500 EV car owners from the metropoletine including Delhi NCR, Mumbai, and Bangalore. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Almost 91,000 electric passenger vehicles were sold in India during the Financial Year 2023- 24, as indicated by the data from the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Park+ Survey Findings<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interestingly, a significant 88 percent of EV owners felt  anxiety as a primary concern, surpassing the more commonly discussed range anxiety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to several drivers, they preferred to limit their travels to short intercity trips under 50 km due to these challenges. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Out of the total respondents, 73 percent showed concerns over maintenance costs as it was a major gray area for them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Besides this, many EV owners find it problematic as even local mechanics find it difficult to fix any issues that occur in their EV. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to this, there is an inability to obtain second opinions on repair costs further compounded their concerns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But biggest of all this,there is a substantial fall in the resale value of EVs, again creating a worry for 33 percent of respondents. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As we know that the resale market for EVs is still developing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It appears that the lack of standardized tests to evaluate battery quality currently, which constitutes 30 percent of an EV’s value, makes it difficult to assess their true worth. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This uncertainty adds up in contrast sharply with the straightforward valuation of ICE vehicles based on age and mileage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It won’t be an exaggeration to say that EV owners reported lower satisfaction compared to ICE vehicle owners, primarily due to everyday hassles. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As an effect, 51 percent of the surveyed EV owners expressed a preference for returning to ICE vehicles for their next purchase, notably.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most Popular EV<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

When it comes to the most popular EV, the Tata Nexon EV emerged as the most popular choice among current EV owners, with almost 61 percent favoring it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next place is occupied by the Tata Punch EV at 19 percent. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Besides this BYD is also worth mentioning as it also attracted attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
