{"id":1283240,"date":"2024-07-10T13:08:22","date_gmt":"2024-07-10T07:38:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/?p=1283240"},"modified":"2024-07-10T13:08:43","modified_gmt":"2024-07-10T07:38:43","slug":"50-dearness-allowance-effective-jan-1-2024-for-50-lakh-govt-employees-50-lakh-pensioners","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/50-dearness-allowance-effective-jan-1-2024-for-50-lakh-govt-employees-50-lakh-pensioners\/","title":{"rendered":"50% Dearness Allowance Effective Jan 1, 2024 For 50 Lakh Govt Employees, 50 Lakh Pensioners"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>With effect from January 1, 2024, the central government has announced a 4% rise in employees&#8217; Dearness Allowance (DA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"465\" src=\"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/Untitled-design-13-1-1.jpeg\" alt=\"50% Dearness Allowance Effective Jan 1, 2024 For 50 Lakh Govt Employees, 50 Lakh Pensioners\" class=\"wp-image-1283248\" srcset=\"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/Untitled-design-13-1-1.jpeg 1000w, https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/Untitled-design-13-1-1-300x140.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/Untitled-design-13-1-1-768x357.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>A matching 4% increase in Dearness Relief (DR) has also been made available to retirees of the central government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>4% Rise in DA Of Government Employees Approved<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With this rise, the DA and DR for retirees and central government employees will equal <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timesnownews.com\/business-economy\/personal-finance\/central-government-employees-to-receive-benefits-with-50-da-and-25-allowance-increases-details-article-111538638\/amp?utm_campaign=fullarticle&amp;utm_medium=referral&amp;utm_source=inshorts\">50% of the base pay.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Beginning on January 1, 2024, 13 allowances are anticipated to increase as a result of the DA raise to 50%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These modifications were outlined in a circular issued by the Employees&#8217; Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) on July 4, 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The EPFO circular highlights that starting on January 1, 2024, payments for the 13 allowances will be made at rates that are 25% higher than the current rates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The EPFO circular dated 4th July 2024 announced in this regard, saying, \u201cAttention is drawn to the following orders issued by Department of Expenditure\/DoPT in the past and request that consequent upon the increase of Dearness Allowance by 4% to 50% w.e.f. 01.01.2024, the payments of the following allowances whereever applicable may be made at enhanced rates of 25% over the existing rates w.e.f. 01.01.2024.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Which Allowances Will Be Impacted?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among the 13 allowances impacted are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>House Rent Allowance (HRA)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Conveyance Allowance<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hotel Accommodation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Deputation Allowance<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Split Duty Allowance<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Touch Location Allowance<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Special Allowance for children of women with disabilities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Children Education Allowance<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reimbursement of Traveling Charges within the city<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reimbursement of Food Charges\/Daily Allowance for journeys<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rate of transportation of personal effects by road on transfer<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dress Allowance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The total remuneration package for employees of the central government will be considerably improved by the rise in allowances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 7th Pay Commission (7th CPC) regulations state that allowance rates rise to 24% after DA reaches 50% of the base pay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The government&#8217;s efforts to guarantee equitable remuneration and promote the welfare of workers and retirees include these modifications.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>With effect from January 1, 2024, the central government has announced a 4% rise in employees&#8217; Dearness Allowance (DA).
