A recent media report<\/a> talks about Apple rejecting overtures by Meta Platforms to integrate the social networking company\u2019s AI chatbot into the iPhone months ago, as informed by the people with knowledge of the matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Future Of The Apple & AI Partnership<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Further the report confirmed that the companies are not in discussions for an AI partnership involving Meta\u2019s Llama chatbot and only held brief talks in March.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It seems that the discussions about a potential partnership did not reach a formal stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, the iPhone maker was not actively planning on integrating Llama into iPhones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is due to the reason that it does not consider Instagram owner Meta\u2019s privacy practices stringent enough, as per the media report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier the speculations were made regarding the preliminary talks that took place around the time Apple started hashing out deals to use OpenAI\u2019s ChatGPT and Alphabet\u2019s Gemini in its products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the start of June, Apple also unveiled its long-awaited AI strategy at its annual developer conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then, the company talked about bringing OpenAI\u2019s chatbot ChatGPT to its devices. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why Would This Happen?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

They wanted to integrate its new \u201cApple Intelligence\u201d technology across its suite of apps, including virtual assistant Siri.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It turns out that Apple has turned down Meta Platforms’ proposal to integrate its Llama AI chatbot into iPhones, citing concerns over the social media giant’s privacy practices. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Further the report mentioned, “Discussions about a potential partnership did not reach a formal stage and Apple was not actively planning on integrating Llama into iPhones, because it does not consider Instagram owner Meta’s privacy practices stringent enough.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As per this report, “The preliminary talks took place around the time Apple started hashing out deals to use OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Alphabet’s Gemini in its products.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interestingly, this news comes at a time when Apple is unveiling its own ambitious AI strategy at its annual developer conference in June. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
