The report by global payroll firm ADP Research Institute has said that More than 40 percent of Indian workers<\/a> have two or more sources of income, the highest percentage among the 18 surveyed countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The rich lifestyle is an original motivator, with 37 percent of the respondents saving for \u201cremarkable purchases\u201d and 35 percent expecting to upgrade their lifestyle through this secondary income from another employment job.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \u201cPeople at Jobs 2024: A Global Workforce View\u201d report, however, did not say what percentage of workers constituted temporary workers and full-time employees since it surveyed both. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The report identified gig workers as those who work on a contingent, temporary, or seasonal basis, or as a freelancer, independent contractor, consultant or use an online platform to source work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Employees having a permanent full or part-time position. Traditional employees have been identified as those not working in the gig economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ADP Survey – Gig Worker Satisfaction Up, Salary a Top Priority<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As per the survey conducted by the ADP Research Institute, 34,612 workers in 18 countries around the world between October 22 and November 24, 2023, with at least 500 per market specifically in the gig economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As per the report, there is also an increase when it comes to the salary satisfaction in Indian workers. From previous 49% in 2023, there is a significant increase in 2024 to 73%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For 51% of Indian workers, salary is the most important factor in a job. With 81%, Indians remains the highest in 18 countries when it comes to job satisfaction rate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Notably, the satisfaction varies a bit as per gender. With 84%, female respondents reported higher contentment than their male counterparts (78%).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As per the report, Leading the pack is the education sector, with the highest satisfaction rate of 88 %<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ADP’s flagship report helps employers adapt approach to recruitment, reward and retention, and apply the findings to drive business transformation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
