Previously, if there was no other obvious damage or impact point, these cracks were covered under warranty. Apple is reportedly urging Apple Stores and Apple Authorized Service Providers to accept any hairline fractures as accidental damage, according to a story in 9to5Mac that cites anonymous sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nowadays, tiny cracks are regarded as “accidental damage,” and clients must cover the cost of repairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the moment, only Apple Watches and iPhones are affected by this change. For comparable cracks on iPads and Macs, warranty coverage is unaffected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It has never actually been covered by the usual one-year warranty for cosmetic damage like dents or scratches. In the past, hairline cracks were seen as screen flaws and occasionally corrected at no cost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The absence of a clear policy frequently resulted in uneven enforcement, with certain repair businesses being more forgiving than others. The new strategy guarantees a consistent approach and eliminates this flexibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
