{"id":1281871,"date":"2024-05-23T09:42:31","date_gmt":"2024-05-23T04:12:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/?p=1281871"},"modified":"2024-05-23T09:42:51","modified_gmt":"2024-05-23T04:12:51","slug":"former-lava-boss-caught-cheating-while-trying-to-extend-bail-someone-else-was-doing-heart-tests","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/former-lava-boss-caught-cheating-while-trying-to-extend-bail-someone-else-was-doing-heart-tests\/","title":{"rendered":"Former Lava Boss Caught Cheating While Trying To Extend Bail: Someone Else Was Doing Heart Tests"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Delhi Police officials said that they have arrested a man at AIIMS for allegedly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.indiatoday.in\/india\/story\/lava-md-hari-om-rai-sends-imposter-to-get-heart-test-done-for-bail-extension-in-money-laundering-case-caught-2540757-2024-05-18\">impersonating<\/a> Hari Om Rai, former managing director of the Lava International mobile company, who is accused in an Enforcement Directorate money laundering case against Chinese smartphone-maker vivo-India and others, on Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"465\" src=\"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/ify-36.png\" alt=\"Former Lava Boss Caught Cheating While Trying To Extend Bail: Someone Else Was Doing Heart Tests\" class=\"wp-image-1281882\" srcset=\"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/ify-36.png 1000w, https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/ify-36-300x140.png 300w, https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/ify-36-768x357.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How Did This Happen?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Naval Kishor Ram who introduced himself as Hari Om Rai was arrested while getting his echocardiogram done at the ECHO Lab of the medical institute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prior to this, he was arrested by the ED on October 10, 2023, on money laundering charges in the case against Vivo-India.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lateron, he had obtained a three-month bail from the Delhi High Court on medical grounds reportedly which ended on May 16.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prior to this, Hari Om Rai had filed another application before the high court for an extension of his medical bail on the grounds that he suffers from cardiac issues recently.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This resulted in a medical examination of Rai which was scheduled at the Cardiology Department of AIIMS on May 6.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After getting this news, ED officials had reached AIIMS to supervise the medical examination of Hari Om Rai.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But to their surprise, they learned that a man named Naval Kishore Ram had arrived for the medical examination posing as Hari Om Rai hours later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Considering this fact, the ED immediately informed the Delhi Police, who arrested Naval Kishore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It appears that Hari Om had sent Naval in his place for the examination in order to get the relief based on his illness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Refusal For The Extension Of Bail<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Further, the officials had informed the high court about the alleged impersonation and cheating, \u200b\u200bRai allegedly sent a 50-year-old impersonator with heart issues to undergo tests in his name at AIIMS.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following this event, Hari Om Rai was refused extension of bail and was sent to Tihar jail under judicial custody.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Delhi Police officials said that they have arrested a man at AIIMS for allegedly impersonating Hari Om Rai, former managing director of the Lava International mobile company, who is accused in an Enforcement Directorate money laundering case against Chinese smartphone-maker vivo-India and others, on Friday.
