MG’s Electric Expansion – Introducing the Cloud EV<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As per the information, company shall be focusing on the electric and electrified vehicles, and first one in the list of their soon to be launches is Cloud EV.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sold in China as Baojun Yunduo and as Wuling by parent brand SAIC in Indonesia, the Cloud EV shall be rebadged as an MG in India. On similar lines, the Comet is a rebranded Wuling Air.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sources say that the car could be priced under Rs 20 lakh in India, which means that it shall be positioned itself right in the thick of the EV market and rival the Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV400.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The same shall be more affordable than MG\u2019s own ZS EV which has been a steady seller for the brand. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The key factors driving the aggressive pricing for the upcoming Cloud EV shall lie in sourcing as well as a high level of localisation, which includes the battery pack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Innovative Design and Features of the MG Cloud EV<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

With a length of 4.3 metres, the Cloud EV has a wheelbase of 2,700mm and though it looks like a MPV, it is essentially a 5-seater with two rows of seating. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Cloud EV could also be described as a cross between a large hatchback and an MPV. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With a minimalistic design with flush door handles, it has clean surfacing and full-width LED light bars at the front and rear. What gives it a unique look is the stepped front-end design with the headlamps mounted on the bumper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The theme of minimalism engulfs its interior as well, and also it has interior packaging advantages allowing for lots of space. Dominated by a large touchscreen infotainment, the dashboard has a digital instrument cluster and the front seat backrest can be fully reclined for what is called the \u201csofa mode with 135-degree backseat recline\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Indonesia, the same comes with a ADAS suite with a 360-degree camera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It comes with 2 two battery pack options overseas \u2013 a 37.9kWh and a 50.6kWh, with 360km and 460km range, respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Powered by a front-axle mounted, there shall be a permanent magnet synchronous motor that produces 134hp, but it remains to be seen which of these versions will be brought here<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the frame than is relatively smaller than traditional MPVs like the Maruti Ertiga and Kia Carens in India, Cloud EV shall find itself in a unique position for being the only all-electric model in its class until the Kia Carens EV arrives here in the second half of 2025. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company and its ability to keep the car within the sub-Rs 20 lakh price in India could make it a very compelling and interesting vehicular options for many.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
