As per a new policy announced by Dell, starting from May 13, the company shall start the use electronic badge scans, VPN log-ins, and a colour-coded system in order to monitor how often its employees come to the office.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As per the information, the company shall ask their workforce to be present<\/a> in the office for at least 39 days per quarter or approximately three days a week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Colour Coded Attendance Tracking by Dell<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As per the new hybrid work policy, Dell shall be grading its employees on the basis of number of days that they shall work in office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The HR software shall keep a track of all its employees\u2019 on-site presence and assign colour-coded ratings based on the attendance report card, grading them at four levels. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The reports said that below shall be the colours as well as their meaning are as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Blue \u2013 Consistent onsite presence<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Green \u2013 Regular onsite presence<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Yellow \u2013 Some onsite presence<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Red \u2013 Limited onsite presence<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Those employees who do not meet the requirement of minimum attendance shall have their status escalated to Jeff Clarke, Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Vice Chairman (VC) at Dell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Averaging 3 days a week or at least 39 days per quarter, the team members globally shall have to work in hybrid roles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Challenges Arise with Dell’s Hybrid Work Policy<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As per the spokesperson, the company believes that in-person connections, combined with a flexible approach, are crucial for driving innovation and value differentiation in this technology era.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As per the company, as many as half of the company\u2019s US-based employees as well as two-thirds of its international workers are classified as remote. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Post this announcement, many of the workers are not happy with the new hybrid work policy since they think that the rules are strict and may lead to people losing their jobs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

One person described the situation to the publication as a \u201cshit show\u201d with managers not being able to offer consistent guidance on the consequences of receiving a red flag on their attendance report card for limited on-site presence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, Dell earlier made a statement wherein it said that the employees who are working from home shall be less likely to get promoted and have a hard time for it and on the same lines in the times of crisis, they are more likely to be handled the pink slip if the company needs to cut jobs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
