{"id":1281104,"date":"2024-04-25T07:36:46","date_gmt":"2024-04-25T02:06:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/?p=1281104"},"modified":"2024-04-25T07:37:07","modified_gmt":"2024-04-25T02:07:07","slug":"tcs-bans-incentives-bonus-for-these-work-from-home-employees-gross-discrimination","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/tcs-bans-incentives-bonus-for-these-work-from-home-employees-gross-discrimination\/","title":{"rendered":"TCS Bans Incentives, Bonus For These Work From Home Employees: Gross Discrimination?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><br>As per this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.livemint.com\/companies\/poor-office-attendance-bid-farewell-to-performance-bonus-tcs-says-to-employees-tata-consultancy-services-employees-11713793805010.html\">development<\/a>, the employees at India&#8217;s biggest IT company, Tata Consultancy Services Ltd (TCS) not meeting their minimum attendance requirements will not be eligible to receive a performance bonus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Untitled-design-1-5-1280x720-1-2-1024x576.png\" alt=\"TCS Bans Incentives, Bonus For These Work From Home Employees: Gross Discrimination?\" class=\"wp-image-1281114\" srcset=\"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Untitled-design-1-5-1280x720-1-2-1024x576.png 1024w, https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Untitled-design-1-5-1280x720-1-2-300x169.png 300w, https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Untitled-design-1-5-1280x720-1-2-768x432.png 768w, https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Untitled-design-1-5-1280x720-1-2.png 1280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>TCS Guarantees No VPI For Poor Office Attendance<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the early hours of 18 April, Tata Consultancy Services Ltd (TCS) sent an internal memo to its employees, noting that the employees with less than 60% attendance at office, or those who have attended office for less than three out of five days a week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The move aimed at cracking down on those who have been irregular or reluctant to work from office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It appears that TCS has linked its work-from-office policies to its quarterly variable pay or annual bonus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This does not end here as the internal memo further notified that employees consistently neglecting the \u201885% and above\u2019 office attendance requirements may face \u201cdisciplinary action.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So far, TCS has not released any statement in this regard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How Does It Affect?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The memo noted that the seat availability at TCS\u2019 physical locations will be taken into account while considering the performance bonus payable to employees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Moving ahead, the memo added that valid exceptions to the said directives must be recorded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The approvals for the same must be taken through the company\u2019s internal portal for employee-related functions, Ultimatix.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Besides this, good news for the employees who come to office on four or more days in a week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They will receive 100% of the performance bonus decided by the company management for the period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now those who have between 75% and 85% attendance, they will receive 75% of the performance bonus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Next comes the Employees having office attendance between 60% and less than 75% office will receive half the performance bonus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please note here that the tech giant has already made it compulsory for its employees to attend office for 45 hours a week, or nine hours a day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In response to this, an employee has said, \u201cThere is a quarterly variable pay which is never paid in full and to top that off, the company has linked it to return-to-office norms,&#8221; on condition of anonymity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the unawares, variable pay is given to employees on the basis of their performance over and above their base salary on a quarterly and\/or an annual basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are wondering about the amount of variable pay, it varies from period to period and is decided by the company.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As per this development, the employees at India&#8217;s biggest IT company, Tata Consultancy Services Ltd (TCS) not meeting their minimum attendance requirements will not be eligible to receive a performance bonus.
