The study revealed that the high mercury content in these creams is contributing to a surge in cases of Membranous Nephropathy (MN), a condition damaging kidney filters and causing protein leakage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Impact on Public Health: Unraveling the Findings<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Examining 22 reported cases of MN between July 2021 and September 2023, the study uncovered startling insights<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Patients presented with symptoms ranging from subtle fatigue to mild edema, with increased protein levels in their urine. Shockingly, 68% of the cases were positive for neural epidermal growth factor-like 1 protein (NELL-1), a rare form of MN associated with malignancy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most patients admitted to using skin fairness creams before symptom onset, highlighting the concerning correlation between these products and kidney health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
