Apple enthusiasts eagerly awaiting the launch of the next-generation iPad Pro and iPad Air may have to wait a little longer. According to a recent report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the launch<\/a> of these highly anticipated tablets has been pushed back to early May, just a month before the company’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) set to commence on June 10.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Production Ramp-Up and Software Refinements<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gurman’s report suggests that Apple suppliers are currently ramping up production of the expected iPad models. The delay in the launch is attributed to ongoing software work for the devices and the complex new manufacturing techniques required for the new displays the models are rumored to feature. This contrasts with earlier reports that hinted at a launch by the end of March or in April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The upcoming iPad Pro variants, codenamed J717, J718, J720, and J721, are expected to be powered by Apple’s new M3 chipset and support redesigned versions of the Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil. The company has also been working on incorporating OLED screens into the new iPad models, enhancing the visual experience for users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Larger Displays and Improved Cameras<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the iPad Pro, the iPad Air is also set to receive a significant upgrade. Currently available only in a 10.9-inch size, the next-generation iPad Air is expected to feature a larger 12.9-inch display, bringing it in line with the top-end iPad Pro. The new iPad Air models are also rumored to be powered by the M2 chipset and will likely feature landscape-oriented front cameras, improving the video calling experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recent leaks have also suggested that the upcoming iPad Pro models will sport thinner bezels and will be available in both glossy and matte screen versions. The 11-inch variant is expected to have a 7.12mm bezel, while the 12.9-inch option will have a 7.08mm bezel, representing a 10 and 15 percent reduction, respectively, compared to their 2022 counterparts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
