100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Indian Airlines Preparing For Air Surge<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, the airline is all prepared to operate 24,275 weekly domestic flights starting from March 31.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If we compare this with the corresponding period last year, it marks a nearly 6 percent surge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The number of weekly departures is set to rise by 2.30 percent compared to the ongoing winter schedule, where scheduled carriers are operating 23,732 flights, as per the information provided by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation(DGCA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Further, under this summer schedule which runs from March 31 to October 26, encompasses a total of 24,275 departures per week to and from 125 airports across the country.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is noteworthy here that this initiative includes several new airports proposed by the airlines including Azamgarh, Aligarh, Chitrakoot, Gondia, Jalgaon, Moradabad, and Pithoragarh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A Positive Outlook For Aviation Industry<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This increase in flight operations creates a positive outlook for the aviation sector as we can already witness travel demand rebounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The travelers can expect enhanced accessibility and convenience with the availability of more flights connecting various destinations this summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When it comes to differing vendors, IndiGo, Air India and Vistara will operate more flights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the meantime, SpiceJet is expected to reduce the departures during the 2024 summer schedule that spans from March 31 to October 26.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Surge In International Flights&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Indian <a href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/industry\/transportation\/airlines-\/-aviation\/indian-airlines-to-operate-24275-weekly-domestic-flights-in-summer-schedule\/articleshow\/108675750.cms?from=mdr\">carriers<\/a> will be connecting with 37 countries, including the US, the UK, Uzbekistan, Maldives, Georgia and Azerbaijan as per the summer schedule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The flights for international destinations will be operated from 27 domestic airports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the same time, the domestic carriers will be operating 1,922 weekly international flights, a rise of 5.1 per cent compared to the 2023 summer schedule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In comparison to the ongoing winter schedule where the count of international weekly flights is 1,892, the increase is only 1.6 per cent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the summer, the country&#8217;s largest airline IndiGo will be operating 13.82 percent more flights at 13,050.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Similarly, Air India will increase its weekly departures by 4.59 percent to 2,278.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other players like Vistara will be operating 25.22 percent more weekly flights at 2,324.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the same time, Akasa Air will increase their weekly domestic departures by 14.30 per cent to 903.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Again, in case of SpiceJet, it will be cutting down its weekly departures by 22.28 per cent to 1,657.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When it comes to Air India, it will operate 455 weekly flights in the international segment, marking an increase of 5.1 per cent compared to the year-ago period.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Considering the
