In a recent update, the India Railways has crossed the 1500 million tonnes freight<\/a> loading mark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Indian Railways Earns A Record Revenue<\/strong>
With this achievement, Indian Railways has earned a record total revenue of Rs 2.4 lakh crore.
Indian Railways could achieve all this during the current financial year which is ending on March 31, as per the official data released on Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If we go through the revenues, the total revenue of Indian Railways stands at Rs 2.40 lakh crores as of March 15 this FY 2023-24.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The numbers are almost Rs 17,000 crore higher than the corresponding figure of Rs 2.23 lakh crores for the same period of 2022-23.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When it comes to the total Expenditure, Indian Railways stands at Rs 2.26 lakh crores in FY 2023-24.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While pouring more light on the subject, the Ministry of Railways noted, \u201cIndian Railways is on its track to record the best performance in its recorded history in terms of the output from the Freight Business, Total revenue, track laying in the Financial year 2023-24.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So far, the total number of passengers traveling on India Railways during 2023-24 stands at 648 crores.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This represents a clear increment of 52 crores compared to the figures of the same period from last year when the total number of passengers last year stood at 596 crores.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Consecutive Win<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interestingly, last year also Indian Railways had achieved the best-ever freight loading of 1512 million tonnes for FY 2022-23.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In another development, Indian Railways has also laid 5100 km of new tracks in the current financial year as of March 15.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This simply means that Indian Railways has laid new tracks with a daily average of more than 14 km per day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the Rising Bharat Summit 2024 on Tuesday, Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said \u201cIndia\u2019s first Bullet Train will be ready in 2026, will run in one section from Surat to Bilimora in Gujarat.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Centre seems to be working on the 508-km-long Mumbai-Ahmedabad HSR (high speed rail) project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project will initially cover Surat-Bilimora in Gujarat, and later on the full stretch is expected to be completed in 2028.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
