The airport was forced to announce a reduction of around 40 flights over the coming week to comply with the Airport Authority of India’s directive aimed at easing severe runway congestion during peak hours through better slot management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Curbs on Business Jets Face Corporate Criticism<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The regulatory move has led to criticism from major corporate players like Reliance, JSW and others after the restriction timing on business jet operations at Mumbai airport was doubled from 4 to 8 hours daily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Along expected passenger inconvenience, the flight cuts and curbs to normalize airport infrastructure constraints may also trigger a spike in airfares as capacity tightens. But authorities have justified the curbs citing airspace safety, efficiency and consumer interest priorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Specific airlines like Akasa and Indigo have confirmed cancellations in line with directions, offering alternates or refunds to affected travelers. Most other carriers are also adhering to the compulsory flight reductions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
