Apparition of Layoff Haunts Middle Management & Remote Workers<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

With companies like Alphabet, Amazon, and Microsoft on a layoff spree, there has been an increase in the apprehension of employees, these particularly include those who are in middle management and those who are working remotely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Further exacerbating as well as confirming this hypothesis is United Parcel Service’s decision to cut 12 thousand jobs and also rolling out the return-to-the-office mandate. Despite the signs of economic recovery and growth reflected in increase in job openings as well as stock price rise, the apparition of apprehensiveness haunts the many workers. Some of the layoffs have nothing to do with employees and rather to do with the overall macroeconomic situation such as interest rates as well as anticipation of future changes in monetary policy.
