The ministry of labor and employment of Maharashtra has issued a notice in the name of Information technology (IT) major Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) over a complaint of delayed onboarding of \u201c2000 lateral recruits”, as per a media report<\/a> on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Labor Department Issues Notice to TCS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It appears that the Nascent Information Technology Employees Senate (NITES) has stepped forward to address the concerns of over 2,000 lateral recruits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These recruits are facing adverse consequences due to the unexpected delay in their onboarding process by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Further,  NITES informed about the challenges faced by professionals who resigned from their previous positions in anticipation of joining TCS, only to find themselves in financial distress without a source of income, in a formal grievance submitted to the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The situation seems to be worse as these lateral recruits, with experience levels ranging from 1.8 to 15 years, have been left in limbo, unable to fulfill family responsibilities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Swift Action By Ministry of Labour and Employment<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Further in its notice, NITES has implored the Ministry of Labour and Employment to intervene, urging TCS to take the following actions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Full Salary Payments to the affected employees – <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Under this, TCS needs to pay the affected employees their full salaries for the months during which the onboarding process has been delayed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Employee Assistance Program –<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      TCS has to provide the affected employees access to TCS\u2019s employee assistance program for support during this challenging period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      1. Alternative Employment Opportunities-<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        In this option, TCS has to collaborate with the affected employees to identify alternative employment opportunities within TCS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Considering the NITES\u2019 plea, the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Maharashtra, has taken swift action by issuing a notice to Tata Consultancy Services. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

        This move has marked a significant development in addressing the concerns of the affected IT professionals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        In the meantime, NITES, being a vocal advocate for the rights and welfare of IT professionals nationwide, continues to call upon all stakeholders, including TCS, to prioritize the well-being and security of these employees. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

        NITES believes that these professionals constitute the backbone of India\u2019s IT industry, and their welfare should be of paramount importance to all involved parties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
