Within this test, existing users are not affected.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The bot issue<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bots refers to automated accounts operated by computer programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They are dangerous because of their use to influence narrative on a wide variety of topics and issues.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They are also often behind promoting inflammatory content online such as political propaganda or hate speech.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The truth?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, the reasoning is more than just this.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ever since owner Elon Musk took over last year, the site has suffered from declining revenue from advertisers, its main source of income.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/technology\/2023\/oct\/18\/x-twitter-1-dollar-annual-subscription-fee-new-users-elon-musk-new-zealand-nz-philippines\">said <\/a>an advertiser boycott since his takeover and concern about its management of inappropriate or hateful content has caused ad revenue to decline by 60%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The current plan<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently, X charges its users $8 a month under its \u201cX Premium\u201d subscription model which gives users a blue checkmark along with early access to some services, such as Edit Post.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In India, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.livemint.com\/technology\/tech-news\/elon-musks-x-is-testing-new-premium-subscription-plans-ceo-linda-yaccarino-confirms-11696557434632.html\"><strong>Twitter Blue<\/strong><\/a> costs \u20b9900 per month for both Android and iOS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For web it is \u20b9650 per month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is also an annual subscription priced at \u20b96,800 on web and \u20b99,400 per year on mobile.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Twitter or X users will be charged $1 or roughly Rs 83 per annum for basic features such as liking, reposting and quoting posts.
