Gavin, just eight years old, ventured onto Shark Tank to present his brainchild, an elastic band designed to assist baseball players in breaking in their fresh gloves. Supported by his father and sister, the young entrepreneur’s pitch caught the attention of two “Sharks” on the show, investors who prowl for promising business opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He described his invention, Glove Wrap, as an elastic band meticulously designed to have the precise width, length, and thickness required for the task of breaking in and sculpting an entire baseball glove into a perfect pocket. Gavin’s pitch was refreshingly simple: place a ball inside a glove and wrap it with Glove Wrap. This innovative product significantly sets itself apart from competitors by completely wrapping the glove, unlike anything else currently available in the market, as attested by his father, Jon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In their endeavor to establish a solid foundation for their business, the Batarse family was on a quest to secure a $50,000 investment while offering a 20% equity share. The intensity of this pursuit elevated when Michael Rubin, a notable guest Shark and the CEO of the prominent sports retailer Fanatics, displayed a keen interest in investing in Gavin’s product. However, his commitment was contingent upon Mark Cuban, an experienced investor featured on the show, also coming on board. Subsequently, with Mark Cuban’s agreement, they jointly proposed a $50,000 investment in exchange for a 22% stake in Glove Wrap, a proposition that the Batarse family promptly embraced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reflecting on the deal, Michael Rubin expressed their intentions to help Gavin gain access to some of the finest baseball players globally and introduce Glove Wrap to top retailers. This milestone is indeed remarkable, making Gavin Batarse one of the youngest entrepreneurs to strike a deal on Shark Tank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gavin’s foray into the competitive world of entrepreneurship is not the only instance of a child’s entrepreneurial spirit shining on Shark Tank. The show’s unique format allows contestants to present their business ideas to a panel of accomplished investors who then decide whether to invest in the ventures. Back in 2014, a six-year-old entrepreneur, Kiowa Kavovit, had pitched her business idea on the show and secured an investment from Kevin O’Leary.
