The Tata Harrier and Tata Safari facelifts were recently launched in the Indian automobile market. During the presentation, it was announced that both SUVs have received a 5-star safety rating in the Global NCAP (New Car Assessment Program) crash tests, encompassing assessments for both adult and child occupant protection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adult Occupant Protection:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the frontal impact test at 64 km\/h, the new Harrier and Safari scored 33.05 out of 34 points for adult occupant protection. These SUVs provided ‘good’ protection<\/a> for the head and neck of both driver and passenger. The protection for the chest of both occupants was rated as ‘adequate,’ while their knees received a ‘good’ rating. The lower legs of the driver were rated ‘adequate,’ while the passenger’s lower legs were rated ‘good.’ The footwell area and bodyshell were deemed ‘stable,’ indicating the vehicles’ capability to withstand additional loads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the side impact test at 50 km\/h, protection for the head, chest, abdomen, and pelvis was rated as ‘good.’<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the side pole impact test at 29 km\/h, the curtain airbags were appropriately fitted. The curtain airbags provided ‘good’ protection for the head and pelvis, ‘marginal’ cover for the chest, and ‘adequate’ protection for the abdomen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Electronic Stability Control (ESC):<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ESC in Tata’s updated flagship SUVs met the required fitment rate and demonstrated satisfactory performance according to the latest requirements of Global NCAP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Child Occupant Protection:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the frontal impact test at 64 km\/h, both Tata SUVs achieved a score of 45 out of 49 points for child occupant protection with rear-facing child seats. The 3-year-old dummy was effectively protected from head exposure and offered full protection. Similarly, the child seat for the 1.5-year-old dummy also provided full head protection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the side impact test at 50 km\/h, both child restraint systems (CRS) offered complete protection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Safety Features for the 2023 Tata Harrier and Safari:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The facelift includes enhancements to the safety features, with both SUVs now equipped with 6 airbags as standard and improved overall structural integrity. The new Harrier and Safari models, in their top-spec variants, now also feature an additional airbag for the driver’s knees. Other safety features comprise electronic stability program (ESP), ISOFIX child seat mounts, a 360-degree camera, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) such as autonomous emergency braking and adaptive cruise control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In terms of pricing, the Tata Harrier facelift starts at Rs 15.49 lakh, while the new Tata Safari facelift begins at Rs 16.19 lakh for its base model.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
