Ola cabs resumed its bike taxi services in Bengaluru on Sep 16.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All electric fleet<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The two wheeler service comprises an all-electric fleet including S1 scooters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The service will expand to other parts of the country in the coming months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rates<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c\u20b925 for 5km, \u20b950 for 10km. Lowest cost, very comfortable and great for the environment! Will scale across India over next few months,\u201d the Ola CEO wrote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Comeback after three years<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is returning to the city after 3 years.
It first started in 2016 but came under fire from the state\u2019s transport department over the safety and legality of the two-wheelers and was completely banned <\/a>in the state in 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Opposition<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Karnataka State Minister Ramalinga Reddy said on Tuesday that the state is working towards permanently banning another two wheeler taxi service Rapido bike taxis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The matter has to do with riders especially women’s safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Federation of Karnataka State Private Transport Association, representing 36 bus, taxi and goods vehicle unions called a strike <\/a>earlier this week with calls for regulating bike taxi services among other demands. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
