{"id":1273476,"date":"2023-09-18T07:27:59","date_gmt":"2023-09-18T01:57:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/?p=1273476"},"modified":"2023-09-18T07:28:34","modified_gmt":"2023-09-18T01:58:34","slug":"birth-certificate-will-be-the-only-document-needed-for-aadhaar-driving-licence-admissions-other-requirements","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/birth-certificate-will-be-the-only-document-needed-for-aadhaar-driving-licence-admissions-other-requirements\/","title":{"rendered":"Birth Certificate Will Be The Only Document Needed For Aadhaar, Driving Licence, Admissions &#038; Other Requirements"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Registration of Births and Deaths (Amendment) Act, 2023 which allows a birth certificate to be used as a single document for various purposes is set to come into force from October 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"465\" src=\"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Untitled-design-79.png\" alt=\"Birth Certificate Will Be The Only Document Needed For Aadhaar, Driving Licence, Admissions &amp; Other Requirements\" class=\"wp-image-1273546\" srcset=\"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Untitled-design-79.png 1000w, https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Untitled-design-79-300x140.png 300w, https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Untitled-design-79-768x357.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Applicable cases<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In simple terms birth certificates will now become a single-point document which can be used for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.freepressjournal.in\/amp\/india\/birth-certificate-to-be-single-document-for-aadhaar-driving-licence-admissions-other-sectors-from-october-1?utm_campaign=fullarticle&amp;utm_medium=referral&amp;utm_source=inshorts\">following <\/a>functions from October 1:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>School or college admission<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Procuring a driving licence<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Preparing a voter list<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Aadhaar number<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Registration of marriage<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Appointment to a government job&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Any other purpose determined by the centre<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The Union Ministry of Home Affairs made the declaration in a notification issued on Wednesday, stating October 1 as the official date on which the provisions of the Act shall come into force.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Efficiency and transparency&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This would pave the way for the creation of a national and state-level database of registered births and deaths which would ultimately ensure efficient and transparent delivery of public services, social benefits and digital registration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the new legislation, the national database may be made available to other authorities preparing or maintaining other databases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Use in other databases<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These include population register, electoral rolls, ration cards, and any other national database as notified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Similarly, the state database may be made available to authorities dealing with other state databases, subject to state government approval.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Grievances&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Any person aggrieved by any action or order of the Registrar or District Registrar may appeal to the District Registrar or Chief Registrar, respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This appeal must be made within 30 days from receipt of such action or order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The District Registrar or Chief Registrar will have to give their decision within 90 days from the date of appeal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/government.economictimes.indiatimes.com\/news\/governance\/birth-certificate-to-be-mandatory-to-obtain-aadhaar-driving-license-from-oct-1\/103660352\">Image<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Registration of Births and Deaths (Amendment) Act, 2023 which allows a birth certificate to be used as a single document for various purposes is set to come into force from October 1.
