The Kerala High Court said children should eat home cooked food cooked by their mother instead of ordering takeout from food delivery apps like Swiggy and Zomato.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It said this as it was hearing a case related to pornography where it made observations on sex, pornography and the importance of having home-cooked meals for children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Original case<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The case <\/a>had to do with a case of obscenity under Section 292 of the Indian Penal Code filed against a 33-year-old man who was caught by the police in 2016 for watching porn on his phone on the roadside. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It accepted the accused person’s plea to quash the FIR and the court proceedings against him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“If the accused is trying to circulate or distribute or publicly exhibit any obscene video or photos, then the offence under Section 292 IPC is attracted,” Justice Kunhikrishnan said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Therefore, no offence under Section 292 of the IPC is made out against the accused since they were watching in private instead of showing it in public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Internet access for children<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here, it also observed that the digital era has made porn accessible to children and has cautioned parents against giving mobile phones with internet access to children to make them happy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The parents should be aware of the danger behind it. Let the children watch informative news and videos from the mobile phones of their parents in their presence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Justice Kunhikrishnan said that if minor children end up watching porn videos, which are now accessible in all mobile phones, “there will be far reaching consequences”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Play outside instead<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Let the children play cricket or football or other games they like during their leisure time. That is necessary for a healthy young generation who are to become the beacons of hope of our nation in the future\u201d he advised instead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also advised parents to encourage their children to play outdoors and also have home cooked meals made by their mothers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eat inside instead<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cInstead of purchasing food from restaurants through \u2018swiggy\u2019 and \u2018zomato\u2019, let the children taste the delicious <\/a>food made by their mother and let the children play at play grounds at that time and come back home to the mesmerizing smell of mother\u2019s food. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
