Mahindra Recalls 1 Lakh+ XUV 700, XUV 400 Electric Over Major Engineering Problem\" class=\"wp-image-1272642\" srcset=\"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Untitled-design-19-1280x720-1-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Untitled-design-19-1280x720-1-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Untitled-design-19-1280x720-1-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Untitled-design-19-1280x720-1.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Recall Of Over 1.10 Lakh XUV700 &amp; XUV400 EVs In India<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Friday, Mahindra &amp; Mahindra Ltd announced that they will be undertaking proactive inspection and rectification of its selected XUV range of products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is due to the potential risk of an abrasion cut of the wiring loom, said the company through its exchange filing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Giving more information on the subject, Mahindra noted,&nbsp; around 1,08,306 units of the XUV700 manufactured between June 8, 2021, and June 28, 2023 and 3,560 units of the XUV400 manufactured between February 16, 2023 and June 5, 2023, have been affected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here, the XUV700 will be inspected for a &#8220;potential risk of abrasion cut of wiring loom&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the same time, XUV400 will be checked for &#8220;ineffective spring return action of the brake potentiometer&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What Will Happen Next?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The company said that the owners of the affected cars will be personally contacted by the company.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The vehicle owners need not to worry as the automotive firm will inspect the vehicles and the issue will be rectified free of cost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Confirming the same, the company said that they will be inspecting wiring loom routing in the engine bay of 1,08,306 units of XUV700 manufactured between June 8, 2021 to June 28, 2023 due to a potential risk of abrasion cut of wiring loom, in its statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Besides this, 3,560 units of XUV400 vehicles manufactured between February 16 to June 5 of this year will be inspected for ineffective spring return action of the brake potentiometer.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While talking about its decision to inspect its XUV vehicles, the auto manufacturer said that this is keeping in line with the company\u2019s customer-centric approach.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The statement further noted that the customers who are using the mentioned models will be personally contacted by the company after which inspections and subsequent rectification will be carried out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Further, Mahindra assured, &#8220;The inspection and subsequent rectification will be carried out free of cost. This action to carry out an inspection is in compliance with the voluntary code on vehicle recall.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In another development, the company had announced that it has been fined a penalty of Rs 14.3 lakh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The penalty is for incorrect input tax credit availed during the transition from the excise regime to the GST regime by erstwhile Mahindra Vehicle Manufacturers Ltd, which has since been merged into it.&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In a recent development, the Mumbai headquartered leader in automotive, Mahindra has announced a recall of over 1.10 lakh units of the XUV700 and XUV400 EV.
