(Check Full Details)\" class=\"wp-image-1272640\" srcset=\"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Untitled-design-9-4.png 1000w, https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Untitled-design-9-4-300x140.png 300w, https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Untitled-design-9-4-768x357.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Country\u2019s First Hydrogen Fuel Cell Bus Service In Ladakh&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The state-owned power giant, NTPC, has commenced a trial run of a hydrogen bus in Leh, said the company in a <a href=\"https:\/\/english.jagran.com\/auto\/indias-first-hydrogen-fuel-cell-bus-service-in-ladakh-to-transform-transportation-10094918\">statement<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Being the country&#8217;s largest power generator, NTPC is leading this innovative project which is focused on creating a carbon- neutral Ladakh.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The introduction of hydrogen fuel cell buses seems to mark a significant step towards achieving this ambitious goal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While that being said, the country&#8217;s first hydrogen fuel cell bus service is scheduled to begin in Leh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They will begin with the first-ever commercial test of cutting-edge technology on public roads in the high-altitude, chilly desert of the union territory of Ladakh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Commencing An Era Of Green Transport In Ladakh&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NTPC is setting up a hydrogen fuelling station, solar plant and providing five fuel cell buses for operation on intracity routes of Leh in order to achieve carbon-neutral Ladakh, the company said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier, on 17 August, the first hydrogen bus reached Leh as part of a three-month-long process of field trials, road worthiness tests and other statutory procedures.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This holds a great significance as this will be India&#8217;s first-ever deployment of hydrogen buses on public roads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a statement, the power generation firm said, &#8220;The first-of-its-kind Green Hydrogen Mobility Project at 11,562 ft is co-located with a dedicated solar plant of 1.7 MW for providing renewable power. The fuel cell buses are designed for operation in sub-zero temperatures in rarefied atmospheres, typical to such altitude locations, which is a unique feature of this project.&#8221;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It appears that NTPC is quite focused and committed to achieving 60 GW of Renewable Energy Capacity by 2032.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With this move, the company will be a major player in green hydrogen technology and energy storage domain.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Apart from these initiatives, the company is taking up several initiatives such as hydrogen blending, carbon capture, EV buses, smart NTPC Townships etc towards decarbonisation, NTPC said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/curlytales.com\/ladakh-to-get-indias-first-green-hydrogen-mobility-project-hydrogen-buses-solar-plants-to-come-up\/\">Image Source<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ushering the country into a new era of eco-friendly transportation, India&#8217;s groundbreaking hydrogen fuel cell bus service is set to debut in Leh, Ladakh.
