In a recent update, the IT hardware maker, Dell Technologies has confirmed that it will lay off employees in its core sales teams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dell To Lay Off Employees In Sales Teams <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this announcement, Dell shared its strategic aim to enhance its market approach utilizing a partner-driven model. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under this transformation, the company will restructure its sales teams, which may cause some team members to leave, reported Business Today in its news report. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The move is regarding a new partner-led go-to-market strategy that pays its direct sales staff more to sell storage through the channel, as per a media report<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the report, a Dell spokesperson was quoted as saying \u201cSome members of our sales team will leave the company. We don\u2019t make these decisions lightly, and we\u2019ll support those impacted as they transition to their next opportunity.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

So far, the technology company did not confirm whether the new layoffs are a part of, or in addition, to the 6,650 job cuts announced in February, the report noted. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Biggest Change Ever<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This shift is the \u201cbiggest change ever\u201d in Dell\u2019s GTM model, said the Dell President of Sales and Customer Operations Bill Scannell to the publication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Further adding, \u201cThis is massive. This is exciting. We\u2019ve been working on this for a while because we want to make sure we get it right.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBut we got it right and it\u2019s supported by Michael Dell, [Dell Vice Chairman and COO] Jeff Clarke, all the way through the organization,\u201d Scannell said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a separate report, Vice-President of UK channel at Dell Technologies, Rob Tomlin was quoted saying, \u201cWith this announcement, over 99% of Dell\u2019s customers and potential customers will be considered partner-first.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tomlin said that under the new GTM strategy, Dell will pay its sales representatives more, which is \u201cthe first time that\u2019s ever happened\u201d, to sell storage through the channel, and accelerate commission.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
