IBA Approves All Saturdays Off For Banks (Govt Nod Awaited)\" class=\"wp-image-1261788\" srcset=\"https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Untitled-design-5-2-1-1280x720-1-1024x576-1-1024x576-1.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Untitled-design-5-2-1-1280x720-1-1024x576-1-1024x576-1-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/trak.in\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Untitled-design-5-2-1-1280x720-1-1024x576-1-1024x576-1-768x432.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>All Bank Employees Getting Holidays On Saturday(Expected)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier, the demand for holiday on weekends was put forward by bank employee unions to declare all Saturdays as a bank holiday, which seems to be accepted by India&#8217;s Bank Association at the 28th July meeting, as per the report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It appears that the representative body of management of Indian banks has forwarded the petition to the Ministry of Finance for its approval now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once it gets the approval of the Union Finance Ministry, the banks will be in operation only five days a week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, the employees will not have to work on 1st and 3rd Saturdays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;It is noteworthy here that for this implementation, the daily work hours at branches could be extended by 45 minutes, said the media report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This time, the bankers are confident that their proposal would get approval from the Finance Ministry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Working Hours May Increase&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Based on some of the informal talks with the ministry, it seems like the government may not have an issue in accepting this request from the bankers&#8217; union,&#8221; the sources said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prior to this, the All India Bank Employees&#8217; Association issued a circular in March this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this circular, it was mentioned that the IBA agreed to enforce a five-day work week for bank employees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;It has emerged that the total working hours can be increased by 40 minutes per day with cash transactions from 10 am to 4 pm and non-cash transactions up to 4-30 pm,&#8221; AIBA said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the past, several rounds of meetings have happened related to the five-day work week for banks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, no substantial outcome has come up so far.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lets see, whether this time the Finance MInistry will approve the demand of bank unions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Wait is over for bank employees as a latest media report indicates that all the Indian banks which are operational for six days twice a month will soon get holidays on all weekends.
