Ahead of the recent entry of Honor, sub-brand of Huawei, in India with the launch of a new smartphone it was reported that a major shakeup in leadership occurred. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

India return<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company’s India arm will be led <\/a>by Realme\u2019s former CEO Madhav Sheth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although there has been no official confirmation, a trademark named “Honor for Knights” with Sheth’s name mentioned was discovered recently. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is accompanied by 15 employees along with a few top executives that have already joined HonorTech after leaving Realme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Senior officials who have resigned include <\/a>former Realme Director Sales Dipesh Punamiya, who joined as AVP at Honor Tech in July.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why join Honor?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sheth resigned from the company last month after <\/a>five years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAfter 5 years at Realme, it’s time for me to move on and start a new journey,” Sheth noted in an official tweet. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to a report from ET Telecom, Honor\u2019s India partner PSAV Global Tech Private Limited is currently discussing with former Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth to revive the brand in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PSAV Global, headquartered in Noida, is a distributor of Honor devices, including laptops, tablets, and wearables.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Poaching accusations<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to a report in ET Telecom, the sales heads who have quit Realme said that their “core team” was taken along. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“There is a mass resignation at Realme India as several employees, including top directors, have joined Madhav Sheth at Honor Tech,” the report <\/a>confirmed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leadership jumble<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dipesh Punamiya, who was in charge of offline sales at Realme, has now become the assistant vice president (AVP) at Honor Tech.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sanjeev Kumar, sitting in the position of assistant vice president (AVP) at Honor Tech took up a senior position in the new company. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pivoting from India business<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

China’s BBK Electronics, incidentally the parent of Realme, decided to make handset makers OnePlus, Oppo and Realme separate entities in India in June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apparently, it is seeking to “de-risk<\/a> its India business”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This involves the three smartphone OEMs which have sales accounted for in their own books.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
